IWAcademy: Supporting Women in Business through Education

One of the goals of the International Women’s Alliance (IWA) is to help women develop skills and abilities that they can use in their businesses. To achieve this, the IWAcademy was created — an educational platform that makes it easier for women around the world to access knowledge and receive training. 

According to UNESCO, approximately 130 million girls worldwide don’t go to school, and many of them grow up without the opportunity to receive an education. However, other research has shown that women with access to education are twice as likely to start their own business as those who do not have it.

This highlights the importance of educational initiatives like the IWAcademy, which can be a key tool in reducing this gap. Education is a powerful tool for change, and the Alliance aims to make this change accessible to women around the world, especially in underdeveloped economies.

The IWAcademy offers high-quality training for women who want to start a business or are already in one. The training helps them achieve their goals, transform their lives, and make a positive impact on their communities.

Members of the Alliance have access to courses and training programs that include:

• Entrepreneurship and Business Development. This program is designed to make it easier for women to start, manage, and grow their businesses. The IWAcademy’s experts offer a course that covers all the essential aspects of running a successful business; business planning, marketing, financial management, and many other topics. The teachers are current entrepreneurs and industry experts who are happy to share their knowledge and experience to help women achieve their goals.

• Leadership and Personal Development. The program is designed to enhance leadership abilities, boost self-confidence, and prepare women for leadership positions. The training covers crucial topics such as effective communication, time management, and goal setting, equipping participants with the tools they need to achieve their dreams.

• Financial Literacy and Independence. The courses in this program teach women how to budget, save, invest, and find funding for their businesses. The goal of the training is to help women make informed financial decisions and achieve financial independence.

• Technology and Digital Skills. The program provides courses ranging from the fundamentals of computer literacy to advanced training in digital marketing, programming, and data analysis. Recently, IWA participants got the opportunity to participate in the Business Essentials program at Vancouver Davis College. This six-week course covers essential topics such as business communication, management, marketing, and other important aspects of running a business. It’s an excellent chance for women who want to achieve success in business to gain the knowledge and skills they need to reach their goals.
